Biography

Dr. Masahiko Hirota joined the Kumamoto Regional Medical Center as the Director of the hospital. He graduated from Kumamoto University School of Medicine, and was received the PhD degree from Kumamoto University in Kumamoto, JAPAN. Following his residency training, he completed a two year fellowship in Eppley Institute for Research in Cancer and Allied Diseases, Nebraska University Medical Center in Omaha, USA. Dr. Hirota's clinical interests include pancreatic cancer surgery, and management of acute and chronic pancreatitis. He also has a strong interest in pathogenesis of acute and chronic pancreatitis.
