He was Monitor of Cardiac Pathology, General Pathology, Medical Biochemistry I and Medical Histology I, as well as Student Representative in the Department of Pathology of the Faculty of Medicine. Founding member of the Academic League of Neurology and Neurosurgery of UFRGS (LINNU). Participant in the Research Group on Cognitive Neurology and Aging, coordinated by Professor Matheus Roriz -Cruz. He received a PhD in Neuropathology at the University of Oslo (Oslo, Norway) under the tutelage of Professor Jens Pahnke, and a PhD in Neuroscience at the Parent Lab, Institute of Neuroscience of Georgia State University (Atlanta, GA) Marise Parent.
