South Africa is the southernmost sovereign state in Africa. Officially Known as Republic of South Africa. It is bounded on the south coastline of Southern Africa stretching along the South Atlantic and Indian Oceans, on the north by the neighbouring countries of Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe, and on the east by Mozambique and Swaziland, and surrounding the kingdom of Lesotho.

South African contains two major rivers the Limpopo and the Orange .The eastern and southern coastal regions are drained by numerous shorter rivers. In South Africa largest dam is the Gariep on the Orange River.
