Dr. Dongfeng Wu has received her PhD in Statistics in University of California, Santa Barbara during the period of 1995-1999. Currently, she is working as an associate professor and Master’s program director in University of Louisville. She is serving as an editorial member of several reputed journals like Journal of Modern Applied Statistical Methods. She has authored/coauthored more than 20 research articles/book chapters. She is a member of the American Statistical Association ASA and International Biometric Society-East North American Region ENAR.

Research Interest

Probability modeling and statistical inferences in periodic cancer screening, Bayesian inference, statistical decision theory, time series, wavelet regression, smoothing spline, etc.


1. How many years have you been associated with the current research?
About 15 years.

2. What is the research topic you are working on now?
Probability modeling and inference of cancer screening.

3. What are attributes for a quality article?
Original ideas, concepts and methods, breakthrough in solving open problems.

4. Do you have any research funding (NIH or other national funding) now?
Not now. I’m applying.

5. When did you become an editor of OMICS Journal?
Since it started in 2010.

6. What is your greatest career accomplishment?
30 years.

7. How does the published scientific content assist the potential researchers?
Researcher need to know what results are available when they do their own research.

8. What is the purpose of serving as an editor?
Broaden my view and benefit the field of biostatistics.

9. Do you have any patents?

10. Have you contributed any editorials or papers (any types) to OMICS Journals in the past two years?

12. How would you define your experience with OMICS Group?
It is positive and mutually beneficial.

13. Your opinion on conducting Editorial Board meetings at related Conferences?
It’s good for the journal, also good to get to know each other.

14. Would you recommend OMICS to your friends or colleagues?

15. How do you differentiate Journal of Biometrics & Biostatistics with other journals in the field?
It’s hard to say at this point. It is compatible with other open access journals. But compare with flagship journals of the biometric/biostatistics society, it needs to improve its impact by publishing high quality original research articles.
