Biography

Dr. Hosam A. Elbaz has received his PhD in West Virginia University during the period of 2007 to 2011. Currently, he is working as a postdoctoral fellow Wayne State University School of Medicine. He is serving as an editorial member of Journal of Bioengineering and Biomedical Sciences and Journal of Nanomedicine and Nanotechnology. He is a member of American Society of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics ASPET, American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists AAPS, American Chemical Society ACS, Egyptian General Syndicate of Pharmacists, and Golden Key International Honor Society.

 
Research Interest

The first aspect of my research interest is different pharmaceutical aspects of cancer therapeutics. Such aspects encompass discovery of novel anticancer agents, elucidation of their mechanism of action, and pre-clinical development. The second aspect of my research interest is employing nano-medicine and nanotechnology in cancer therapeutics through developing different types of nano-particles for targeted drug deliver, therapeutic gene delivery and other potential therapeutic applications in cancer therapeutics.

1. How many years have you been associated with the current research?
7 years.

2. What is the research topic you are working on now?
Inflammation driven carcinogenesis.

3. What are attributes for a quality article?
A top quality article should discuss novel, yet significant topic without undermining the research integrity in any perspective.

4. Do you have any research funding (NIH or other national funding) now?
Not yet.

5. When did you become an editor of OMICS Journal?
I believe that was around April 2012.

6. Where can the journal find the maximum scope in terms of niche?
I’d say it is still too early to effectively answer that question at the time being.

7. What is your greatest career accomplishment?
Acquiring my PhD in Pharmaceutical and Pharmacological Sciences in 4 years and 5 months, while the average graduate needs 6 years for a similar degree.

8. How does the published scientific content assist the potential researchers?
By providing novel findings that advance the field and help potential researchers in tackling future problems.

9. What is the purpose of serving as an editor?
Contributing to scientific development in my field.

10. Do you have any patents?
I have 1 provisional patent application.

11. Have you contributed any editorials or papers (any types) to OMICS Journals in the past two years?
Not yet.

12. Do you plan to contribute any editorials or papers to OMICS Journals in the next year?
Possibly yes.

13. How would you define your experience with OMICS Group?
I’d say it is still too early to effectively answer that question at the time being.

14. Your opinion on conducting Editorial Board meetings at related Conferences?
That should be done.

15. Would you recommend OMICS to your friends or colleagues?
That would depend on how rigorous the peer review process adopted by the journal performs.

16. How do you differentiate Pharmaceutica Analytica Acta with other journals in the field?
I’d say it is still too early to effectively answer that question at the time being.
