Biography

Dr. Prabagaran Narayanasamy is a faculty member in the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Neurosciences at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He received his Ph. D at IIT in Organic Chemistry working on asymmetric synthesis and did his postdoctoral studies at North Dakota State University working on beta amino acids and free radicals, Harvard University and University of Illinois Urbana-champaign working on palladium chemistry. Later, he joined as a Research Scientist at Colorado State University to explore drug discovery. He has been a faculty at University of Nebraska Medical Center since 2012.

 
Research Interest

Drug discovery, delivery, and development for infectious diseases (Tb and HIV) and neurodegenerative disorders.

1. How many years have you been associated with the current research?

18 years

2. What is the research topic you are working on currently?

Organic synthesis, Nanoparticles, HIV, TB- Drug Discovery and Delivery

3. What do you think are the attributes for a quality article?

Good publications, good readers and high Impact factor.

4. Do you have any research funding at present for your work (NIH or other funding)?

Yes, I have three grants including NIH, VA and Nebraska

5. When did you become an editor of OMICS journal? 2013

6. Where can the journal find the maximum scope in terms of niche?

Publications should come faster

7. What is your greatest career accomplishment?

1. First synthesis of my novel compounds

2. New drug Discovery for TB and HIV

3. Novel asymmetric synthesis technology

4. Treatment of Co infection- In all published more than 25 research articles in high Impact journal. Filed many patents and licenses, received many grants

8. How does the published scientific content assist the potential researchers?

Helps them to know what is done and what is not achieved.

9. What is the purpose of serving as an editor?

Judging the novelty and creativity of research article and giving suggestions for the authors to improve their research.

Yes

Yes

Yes.

13. How would you define your experience with OMICS group?

Good, but can be improved by shortening the process time.

14. Your opinion on conducting Editorial Board meetings at related Conferences?

Good and can be more productive

15. Would you recommend OMICS to your friends or colleagues?

Yes

16. How do you differentiate Chemical Sciences Journal with other journals in the field?

It is a new journal and has potential to grow a lot.
