Research Interest

Earth Observation Applications for Water Resources Assessment and Management. (Remote sensing and GIS applications in Ground water Exploration, Rainwater Harvesting. Early warning of Natural Hazards and its relation with Water resources(Tornado, Cyclone, Earthquake, Tsunami, Snowfall, Forest Fire). Research guidance and publications in the following areas Monitoring, analyzing, and quantifying components of the water cycle Monitoring/Modeling real or near-real time surface and/or subsurface hydrological processes Analyzing interactions of land surface and atmospheric processes Investigating wetland dynamics Monitoring, forecasting and managing flooding and droughts Monitoring land use/cover change and impact on hydrological processes Determining effects of human activities on both the quantity and quality of water Developing products for use in integrated water resources management. Used Satellite data: IRS,LANDSAT, SPOT (INDIA, UK, and AFRICA), IRS (INDIA), RESOURSESAT and LIDAR Data (UK), SOHO data of Sun-Earth Environment.

1. What is the research topic you are working on now?
I am working now a few interdisciplinary Remote sensing and Geophysical aspects including Sun-Earth osmic connection, Extraterrestrial Remote sensing, Groundwater Exploration, Rainwater Harvesting, Earthquake Prediction, Climate Change prediction and Moon Tectonics.

2. How many years have you been associated with the current research?
29 Years

3. How has your research precinct affected the scientific community?
In Jawaharlal Nehru University used the research method of rainwater harvesting site and groundwater exploration site selection by using Satellite Remote sensing and Geophysical Techniques including Resistivity Survey, Magnetic Survey and Seismic survey.

4. What are attributes for a quality article?
A quality articles mush address societal problems.

5. How does the published scientific content assist the potential researchers?
Good scientific content can give a base to the researcher for further development in the focused area of research.

6. Where can the journal find the maximum scope in terms of niche?
A journal can find maximum scope in terms of niche where the demand for the research is required for the society.
