Biography

Dr. Xiangwei Xiao is currently working as an Assistant Professor in Children’s hospital of Pittsburgh, USA. he is an eminent member in American Diabetes Association (ADA) and has also been honored with various honors ans awards.

1. How many years have you been practicing and/or performing research?
19 years, since 1995 when I was in medical school.

2. What is the research topic you are working on now?
I am working on pancreas related research, including Diabetes, pancreas development and pancreatic cancer.

3. What makes an article top quality?
An article of high quality should show 3 “C”: clever, clear and clean experiments that are elegantly designed, well performed and clearly presented. A legible take-home message should be easily obtained by the audience.

4. What are the qualities you look for in an article?
Sufficient novelty, properly designed experiments and adequate quality controls.

5. Do you have any research funding (NIH or other national funding) now?
Yes.

6. When did you become an editor of OMICS Journal?
2014.

7. What is your greatest career accomplishment?
First author of six high-tied journals (PNAS, JCI, Diabetes, Diabetologia and JBCX2) in one year.

8. How does the research published percolate through to practitioners?
The research itself should be useful, then it has a prospect.

9. What is the purpose of serving as an editor?
Help most intelligent, well-performed studies promptly published.

10. Do you have any patents?
Yes.

11. Have you contributed any editorials or papers (any types) to OMICS Journals in the past two years?
Yes, I have an editorial for this journal recently.

12. Do you plan to contribute any editorials or papers to OMICS Journals in the near future?
Yes. I have a student who is preparing a review paper for the journal. We may consider sending research papers in future.

No.
