Biography

Professor Zhaoqian Liu, is currently the vice deans of both Institutions of Clinical Pharmacology and Xiangya Medical Laboratory at Central South University, and also director of Hunan Key Laboratory of Pharmacogenetics. He has been the senior visiting Scholar at Munich University in Germany from 1996-1998, and the Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Department of Toxicology and Pharmacology of Indiana University in United State of America from 2002-2004. Professor Liu has got more than 32 national and province grants and published 65 SCI papers on pharmacogenetics and pharmacogenomics published in abroad journals such as Nucleic Acids Research, Clinical Pharmacol Ther, and Clinical Cancer Research and so on. He has obtained 5 national invention patents.

 
Research Interest

Professor Liu is now focusing on the research of basic and clinical applications of Pharmacogenetics and pharmacogenomics on major diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and malignant tumor.

1. How many years have you been associated with the current research?
Almost 30 years

2. What is the research topic you are working on now?
Pharmacogenetics and Pharmacogenomics

3. What are attributes for a quality article?
Innovative and integrity

4. Do you have any research funding (NIH or other national funding) now?
Yes, I have the research funding as follows: the National High-tech R&D Program of China (863 Program) (2012AA02A517), National Natural Science Foundation of China (81173129, 81373490), Program for the Special Scientific Research Foundation of Doctor Disciplines in University of Ministry of Education of China (20110162110034)

5. When did you become an editor of OMICS Journal?
I became an editor of OMICS Journal in 2012.

6. Where can the journal find the maximum scope in terms of niche?
Open Access and the page charge.

7. What is your greatest career accomplishment?
My greatest career accomplishment is an excellent scientist.

8. How does the published scientific content assist the potential researchers?
First, it will provide ideas for the potential researchers. Second, it is the argument for the potential researchers.

9. What is the purpose of serving as an editor?
To me, I think serving as an editor is a good experience. Moreover, I can learn a lot about study, work and life.

I will differentiate Journal of Diabetes & Metabolism with other journals in the field in two ways. First is the innovation of the articles; second is the depth and breadth of the articles.
