Abstract

Animal biotechnology has undergone significant advancements in recent years, opening up new possibilities and raising important ethical, environmental, and economic questions. This abstract provides an overview of these advancements, their implications, and the potential they hold for various fields. The advent of advanced genetic editing tools, such as CRISPR-Cas9, has revolutionized the field of animal biotechnology. These tools enable precise modifications in an organism's genome, offering the potential to enhance desirable traits, mitigate genetic disorders, and develop animal models for human disease research. These breakthroughs have far-reaching implications for agriculture, medicine, and conservation. In medicine, genetically engineered animals serve as valuable models for studying human diseases and testing novel therapies. They offer insights into the genetic basis of diseases, accelerate drug development, and provide hope for conditions with limited treatment options. Nevertheless, ethical considerations related to animal experimentation and potential unforeseen consequences of genetic modifications persist.
