Abstract
This collection of reports and reviews examines global cholera outbreaks, primarily from 2022-2023, with insights into earlier epidemics. It synthesizes the epidemiology, antimicrobial resistance, and control strategies in diverse regions like Africa, Syria, Malawi, Afghanistan, Yemen, and Haiti. The analyses highlight how socio-economic factors, environmental challenges, and humanitarian crises, including conflict and infrastructure destruction, significantly exacerbate disease spread and complicate public health interventions. Key themes include identifying outbreak drivers, evaluating prevention strategies, and emphasizing the urgent need for enhanced surveillance and robust control measures to mitigate future impacts and inform preparedness.
