Abstract
Parametric design is a versatile computational approach significantly impacting sustainable building performance, architectural design, and advanced manufacturing. It enables comprehensive optimization for energy efficiency, environmental analysis, and the creation of ecologically sound structures. Key applications include optimizing multi-functional facades for daylighting and solar energy, analyzing complex structural systems, and enhancing passive design strategies in residential buildings. This approach also proves crucial for early-stage building performance simulation, efficient material usage in freeform structures, and urban climate
mitigation. It extends to the advanced optimization of complex geometries for additive manufacturing, showcasing its broad utility in driving innovation across design and construction.
