Biography
Prof Jitendra Kumar has received his PhD in Agricultural Chemicals from Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, 1994. Currently, he is working as Director, Directorate of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Research, Boriavi, Anand, Gujarat, India. He has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities as Scientist, Senior Scientist, Principal Scientist and Professor, Division of Agricultural Chemicals, IARI. His research has included Agro-chemicals, nutraceuticals, botanical products and nanotechnology. Based on this research and fellowship training he has received several awards and honors, such as: ICFRE Neem Award, 1996; NATP-World Bank Fellowship, Michigan State University, USA, 2000; SPPS Meritorious Scientist Award, 2003; INSA-Royal Society Bilateral Exchange Fellowship, Rothamsted Research, UK, 2004; Dr Ram Nath Singh Award 2006; NRDC Meritorious Innovation Award, 2010; SPPS Outstanding Scientist Award, 2013, PI Industries award, 2015. He is the fellow of Society of Plant Protection Sciences India and National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, India. Dr Kumar has been the convener of IUPAC sponsored two International conferences “ Agrochemicals Protecting Crop Health and Natural Environment” held in 2008 and 2012. He is serving as an editorial member of several reputed journals like Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Research & expert reviewers for journals like Industrial and crop Products, Journal of Microencapsulation, J. Env. Sci. Health Part B, J. Agric. Food Chemistry etc. He has served as General Secretary, Society of Pesticide Science, India. 2005-2009; President, Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Association of India, 2014 to date. Dr. Kumar has over 350 scientific publications including 13 patents / patent applications, 115 research papers and 09 books.
Research Interest
His research has included Agro-chemicals, nutraceuticals, botanical products and nanotechnology.
