First woman to receive this distinction Dra. Flora de la Barra, "Doctor Ricardo Olea Award" • His goddaughter, when I was little, I thought her beloved godmother was paid to play with children in the dollhouse. As surely it was not, but not so wrong: this prominent child psychiatrist is considered extremely fortunate to have been able to always perform what he likes. That is the basic reason for their professional, academic and scientific success, which was crowned with the recognition of their peers, as was recently honored with the "Doctor Ricardo Olea Award" biannually delivers the Society of Psychiatry and Child Neurology and Adolescent SOPNIA. This award was established in 2001 as the highest award gives the company one of its members for their dedication and contribution to the field. Named after the pioneer of neuropsychiatry in Chile, who made ââa great contribution to the formation of the specialty of pediatric neurology and psychiatry of childhood and adolescence. The Bar Flora doctor did his undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Medicine University of Chile, at the end of which he worked as a general practitioner in the area in Melipilla. He completed his specialty in psychiatry as a disciple of Professor Mario Sepulveda; he developed his clinical work in hospitals San Juan de Dios and Luis Calvo Mackenna, where he started his first investigations in epileptic psychosis, and its work teacher- and then traveled to London with a grant from the World Health Organization, training which continued in New York.
