Florence Neymotin

Dr. Florence Neymotin received her Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley and her B.S. in Economics from the Honors Program at The Ohio State University where she graduated in an accelerated fashion after only three years, receiving, among numerous other distinctions, Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Of particular note, at Ohio State, Florence received the Edwin L. Smart Prize for superior academic achievement, awarded yearly to the top student in economics at the university. At Berkeley, she received numerous grants, including the normative time fellowship, the International House grant, and UCLA's education study grant. At Berkeley, Florence worked on research and was formally trained by the world-renowned Clark Medalist and economist Dr. David E. Card. Prior to her arrival at Nova Southeastern University, Dr. Neymotin held a number of other positions in industry and in academia. She worked at Lehman Brothers, New York, in the Asset-Backed and Mortgage-Backed-Securities division. Dr. Neymotin examined the nature of the Student Loan Marketing Association and projected its future path as well as generating more general predictions regarding asset-backed securities. Dr. Neymotin also worked as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Kansas State University, as a Research Fellow at the University of Kansas, and as a Visiting Scholar at the University of California Berkeley and NBER New York.
