Dr. JoAnne Silbert-Flagg strives to promote optimal health care outcomes for pediatric patients through both her clinical practice and her work as a faculty member at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. Her particular areas of interest in the pediatric population range from successful breastfeeding and parent/child bonding for infants, to reducing childhood injuries and adolescent risk-taking behaviors. Dr. Silbert-Flagg also has sought new ways to manage pediatric asthma and allergic disorders, including the examination of how environmental factors may affect symptom severity. She has a keen interest in the ethics of health care, particularly those surrounding the maintenance of confidentiality when providing care to adolescents.
