 Dr. John Michael Petitto is Co-Vice Chair for Research at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Florida, Gainesville, USA. He is a Professor at Department of Psychiatry, Neuroscience, Pharmacology and Therapeutics at McKnight Brain Institute. He has completed his MD from University of North Carolina in 1987. He also did his post doc work at National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), (NIH) focusing on Neuroimmunology. He is a member of many scientific societies. He is an Editorial Board member & prompt reviewer of many Journals.

He serve as an expert reviewer over the years includes the National Institutes of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, the National Institutes of Mental Health, the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institutes of Child Health and Human Development, the National Institute for Human Genome Research, and the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute. Also at National Institutes of Mental Health, served as expert external reviewer of the Intramural Scientific Program, Consultant to Intramural Board of Scientific Counselors, Bethesda, Maryland, November, 2002 & National Institutes of Mental Health Board of Scientific Counselors Review, June, 2008 (scientific and administrative review of programs in neuroimmunology)
