Dr. Michelle Hamilton is the Director of the Center for P-16 Initiatives at Texas State University and holds an academic appointment as an Associate Professor in the Department of Health and Human Performance. Professionally, Dr. Hamilton is an advocate of education for children who are economically disadvantaged in Central Texas. Her education initiatives include several grants to promote college access, financial literacy, and academic success to families in Central Texas. She is the Project Manager for the Caminitos Collaborative, an initiative at Hernandez Elementary in San Marcos ISD that works to expand learning opportunities for Pre-Kindergarten students. Dr. Hamilton is also an Executive Board Member of United Way of Hays County and has served on several appointed committees to develop the San Marcos Youth Master Plan. Additionally, she has served as Presidential Fellow and was instrumental in establishing the Center for P-16 Initiatives at Texas State University. Michelle’s research interests include the development of motor skills for children with developmental delays and autism.
