Doc. RNDr. Omar Sery, Ph.D., was born and lives in Brno. He works at the Institute of Biochemistry, Faculty of Science, Masaryk University in Brno as a lecturer. Lectures and expert guarantor of subjects DNA diagnostics, DNA diagnostics exercises, Neurobiology, Special neurobiology, comparative biology of animals and the structure and function of cells. In his research has focused on DNA analysis in the field of molecular medicine, particularly in the pathophysiology of Alzheimer's disease, alcohol dependence and addiction, schizophrenia and ADHD. Furthermore, the author or co-author tens prototypes kits and methods designed for DNA diagnostics clinically important microorganisms, such as Borrelia burgdorferi, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Chlamydia trachomatis, HSV1, HSV2, hepatitis B and C virus genotyping HCV and HIV etc.
Doc. RNDr. Omar Sery, Ph.D. She collaborates with the Institute of Archaeology of the ASCR in Brno and the Institute of Anthropos, for which regularly analyzes the skeletal remains of human origin.
