There is currently no effective treatment. Globally, the number of people afflicted with dementia has shown a steady growth over the last decades. Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is defined as cognitive decline worse than that of those who have a similar advanced age, but which causes no interference with activities of daily life, such as dementia does.
