Cynthia Castro earned a BA in Psychology from Stanford University in 1992, and a PhD in Clinical Psychology with a Behavioral Medicine specialty in 1997 from the SDSU/UCSD Joint Program. She interned at the Palo Alto VA Health Care System, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Stanford Prevention Research Center. Cynthia joined the School of Medicine as Academic Staff in 1999. She conducts behavioral health research, collaborates with the Center of Excellence in Diversity in Medical Education, and provides consultation to Medical Scholars in the Community Health concentration.
