Biography

Dr Maria Azzopardi Skilled in culturing bacterial, yeast and mammalian cells. She is Experienced in performing several techniques related to microbiology and molecular biology, including but not limited to, DNA and RNA extraction, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and reverse transcription quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR), genotyping, cloning, sequencing and flow-cytometry. She had Successfully defended her research work carried out in part fulfillment for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), which focused on aspirin's chemopreventive properties, at the University of Malta (Centre for Molecular Medicine and Biobanking and Department of Physiology and Biochemistry).
