Biography

Dr. Kelong Wang is a post doctoral associate in the Department of Chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After undergraduate and master degrees in Chemistry at the Suchuan University, China, Dr. Wang came to Texas Tech University for his Ph.D. degree in the fall of 2005. He received his Ph.D. degree in the fall of 2009 working with Professor Dimitri Pappas. In the following year, he worked with Dr. Weihong Tan at the University of Florida. He joined the Allbritton lab in Department of Chemistry at UNC Chapel Hill in the fall of 2010.
Dr. Wang has developed and applied several analytical techniques for disease related cells analysis including cell sorting, cell adhesion, apoptosis (programmed cell death). He also contributed to a methodology of targeted drug delivery for anti-cancer reagent by self-assembled DNA cargo.
Dr. Wang has published 18 peer-reviewed articles in areas such as biomformatics, cell separation, targeted delivery for cancer treatment and detection of cell enzyme activity. Because of his outstanding achievement in doing research, he received the Horn Professor Graduate Achievement Awards in 2008.

Research Interest

Microfluidics, Fluorescence spectroscopy, Cell affinity chromatography, DNA self-assembly in cancer therapy, Controlled release/Drug delivery, Capillary electrophoresis,Nano-technology in cancer diagnosis and therapy.
