Abstract
Neuroimmunology is an emerging field that explores the intricate and bidirectional interactions between the nervous
and immune systems. This dynamic relationship plays a pivotal role in maintaining homeostasis and responding to
injury or disease. Recent advancements in this field have revealed how immune cells influence brain function and how
the nervous system regulates immune responses. Understanding the complex interplay between these two systems is
crucial for unraveling the mechanisms underlying neurological disorders, autoimmune diseases, and neuroinflammatory
conditions. This review delves into the latest research on neuroimmunology, highlighting key cellular and molecular
interactions, the role of neuroinflammation in disease progression, and the therapeutic potential of targeting this crosstalk
to develop novel treatments for a range of disorders, including Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson’s
disease. Through this exploration, we aim to provide a deeper understanding of how the nervous and immune systems
collaborate to maintain health and contribute to disease pathology.
