The territory of Turkey is more than 1,600 kilometres (990 miles) long and 800 kilometres (500 miles) wide, the longitude and Latitudes if the Turkey is 25° and 45° E, 35° and 43°N respectively. Turkey occupies 783,562 square kilometres of land in which 755,688 square kilometres (291,773 square miles) are in Southwest Asia and 23,764 square kilometres (9,175 square miles) in Europe.it is the 37th largest Country.

The economy of Turkey is defined as an emerging market economy by the IMF, It is one of the worlds devoloped country. It has the world's 18th largest nominal GDP and in GDP by PPP it is in the 17th position Turkish economy expanded by 9.2% in 2010, and 8.5 percent in 2011 due to this reason it is one of the fastest growing Economy country in Europe.

Only two Noble Laureates Aare there from this country, and some leading intitutions in Turkey in the Field of Physics are Bilkent University, Gazi University, Hacettepe University, Istanbul Technical University etc. Numerous Physics Journals are published from Turkey with good reputation and Current Research works in Physics in the Several leading Universities such as Astrophysics, Theoretical Physics at Bo?aziçi University, Complex Systems and Statistical Mechanics, Experimental Condensed Matter and Photonics, Condensed Matter Theory at Istanbul University etc.
