Eli Shahar MD

Biography

Dr. Eli Shahar is a graduate of the Sackler School of Medicine, Tel-Aviv University. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at the Chaim Sheba Medical Center and was appointed to head the Neonatology Intensive Care Unit at Poriya Hospital. He than moved to Toronto, Canada where he completed the full official training program in Pediatric Neurology at the Division of Neurology, Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada. As a certified specialist in pediatric neurology, Dr. Shahar served as Acting Director of Pediatric Neuro-Rehabilitation at the Division of Pediatrics, Chaim Sheba Medical Center. Presently, Dr. Shahar is Director of the Pediatric Neurology Unit & Epilepsy Center at Meyer Children Hospital, Rambam Medical Center, and a clinical senior lecturer in the Department of Pediatrics, at the Technion's Rappaport Faculty of Medicine.

Research Interest

Dr. Shahar's main research interests relate to epilepsy and related disorders, including the clinical delineation of epileptic syndromes as well as laboratory research on low affinity NMDA-Blockers, Training-induced neural plasticity, Vaccinations, Immunizations, Pediatric Asthma, Pediatric care, Pediatric Ear Infection, Pediatric Infections, Pediatric Reoccurring Infections, Pediatric Sinusitis, General Pediatrics
