Associate Professor of the Sustainable Design of the Built Environment Programme and Admissions Tutor
He is an Honorary Fellow at the Welsh School of Architecture (WSA), Cardiff University, UK. He is a Chartered Architect (RIBA) and a Chartered Engineer (CIBSE) with over 15 years of experience in the field of Sustainable Environmental Building Design.
He worked as a Research Academic for 10 years at the University of Sheffield (UK) School of Architecture where he led the successful Building Environments Analysis Unit (BEAU) Research Centre and the two long established Postgraduate Taught Masters programmes in Sustainable Architecture (MArch Studies & MSc). Following a Diploma in Architecture (DipArch) at Istanbul Technical University (ITU), he studied a Masters in Architecture (MArch) at the University of Sheffield where he also achieved a PhD in Environmental Design. His thesis focused on the drivers and barriers to improving energy efficiency and reducing carbon dioxide emissions in the private housing sector, where he investigated energy efficiency standards of 250 privately rented properties in Sheffield.
