He is currently working as a Professor of Building Geoenvironment Engineering (2003.10-), Associate Dean of Graduate School of Engineering (2008.4.1-2012.3.31). His education research includes  Bachelor of Engineering, Kyoto University, 1980, Master of Engineering, Kyoto University, 1982, Doctor of Engineering, Kyoto University, Visiting Researcher at University of California, Berkeley, 1989-19901991, Visiting Professor at University of California, San Diego, 2005, Guest of Churchill College, Cambridge University 2008,Adjunct Professor at Wessex Institute of Technology, UK, 2011. His research interest includes Inverse problem in Vibration, Soil-structure interaction, random vibration theory, Structural reliability, Systematization of structural design process, Construction of design earthquake, robust structural design, Structural contorl.
