About the Journal

Cardiovascular Therapy: Open Access  is a scientific, peer-reviewed journal that presents original articles on topics covering the entire spectrum of practical, clinical approach to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Cardiovascular Therapy: Open Access also publishes timely and informative reviews on scientific areas in cardiovascular therapy as well as case reports, book reviews, clinical images, hypotheses and letters to the Editors.

Cardiovascular Therapy: Open Access focuses on the topics disease-oriented morphology and pathogenesis from clinicians and scientists in the cardiovascular field. Subjects covers all Cardiovascular Diseases such as Coronary Heart Disease, Angina, Heart attack, Congenital Heart Disease, Stroke, Cardiovascular Biology and Diseases, Ischemic Heart Disease, Coronary Artery Diseases which includes angina and myocardial infarction etc.

The journal is using Editorial Managing System for quality peer-review process. Editorial Managing is an online manuscript submission, review and tracking systems. Review processing is performed by the editorial board members of the Journal or outside experts; at least two independent reviewers approval followed by editor approval is required for acceptance of any citable manuscript. Authors may submit manuscripts and track their progress through the system, hopefully to publication. Reviewers can download manuscripts and submit their opinions to the editor. Editors can manage the whole submission/review/revise/publish process.

Cardiovascular Biology

Cardiovascular biology is the study of the mechanisms of cardiovascular physiology and pathophysiology like functions and activities of the cardiovascular system as a whole or of any of its parts.

Cardiotoxicity

Cardiotoxicity is a condition when there is damage to the heart muscle. It is the occurrence of heart electrophysiology dysfunction or muscle damage. The heart becomes weaker and is not as efficient in pumping and therefore circulating blood. This may be due to chemotherapy drugs, or other medications used to control respective disease.

Paediatric Cardiology

Paediatric Cardiology is that branch of medicine concerned with the study of congenital cardiac malformations, acquired heart diseases and abnormalities of the systemic and pulmonary circulations in the fetus, newborn, child and young adult. It is the specialty concerned with diseases of the heart in the growing and developing individual.

Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

Atherosclerosis is a disease in which plaque builds up inside arteries. Arteries are blood vessels that carry oxygen-rich blood to heart and other parts of body. Plaque is made up of fat, cholesterol, calcium, and other substances found in the blood. It is hardening and narrowing of the arteries which get a lot of bad press but with good reason. This progressive process silently and slowly blocks arteries, putting blood flow at risk.

Arterial Dissection

It is a tear in one of the carotid arteries of the neck, which allows blood under arterial pressure to enter the wall of the artery and split its layers. The result is either an intramural hematoma or an aneurysmal dilatation, either of which can be a source of microemboli, with the latter also causing a mass effect on surrounding structures.

Infective Endocarditis

It is defined as an infection of the endocardial surface of the heart, which may include one or more heart valves, the mural endocardium, or a septal defect. Its intracardiac effects include severe valvular insufficiency, which may lead to intractable congestive heart failure and myocardial abscesses. It is also called bacterial endocarditis, is an infection caused by bacteria that enter the bloodstream and settle in the heart lining, a heart valve or a blood vessel.

Non-infective Endocarditis

In non-infective endocarditis or nonbacterial thrombic endocarditis, sterile clots form on cardiac valves and nearby endocardium as a result of trauma, vasculitis or a hypercoagulable state such as pregnancy. This condition usually affects valves that have not previously been damaged. Noninfective endocarditis refers to formation of sterile platelet and fibrin thrombi on cardiac valves and adjacent endocardium in response to trauma, circulating immune complexes, vasculitis, or a hypercoagulable state. Symptoms are those of systemic arterial embolism. Diagnosis is by echocardiography and negative blood cultures. Treatment consists of anticoagulants.

Pericarditis

Pericarditis is swelling and irritation of the pericardium, the thin sac-like membrane surrounding the heart. Inflammation of the lining around the heart that causes chest pain and accumulation of fluid around the heart, there are many causes of pericarditis, including infections, injury, radiation treatment, and chronic diseases. The sharp chest pain associated with pericarditis occurs when the irritated layers of the pericardium rub against each other.

Myocarditis

Myocarditis is a disease is inflammation and damage of the heart muscle. Myocarditis can be caused by a variety of infections and conditions such as viruses, sarcoidosis, and immune diseases, pregnancy, and others. The most common cause of myocarditis is infection of the heart muscle by a virus.

Cardiac Neoplasm

The term neoplasia refers to a mass that has developed due to abnormal cell or tissue growth. Neoplasia refers to various types of growths including non-cancerous or benign tumors, precancerous growths, carcinoma in situ and malignant or cancerous tumors. An abnormal tissue that grows by cellular proliferation more rapidly than normal and continues to grow after the stimuli, that initiates the new growth ceases.

Fast Editorial Execution and Review Process (FEE-Review Process):

Cardiovascular Therapy: Open Access is participating in the Fast Editorial Execution and Review Process (FEE-Review Process) with an additional prepayment of $99 apart from the regular article processing fee. Fast Editorial Execution and Review Process is a special service for the article that enables it to get a faster response in the pre-review stage from the handling editor as well as a review from the reviewer. An author can get a faster response of pre-review maximum in 3 days since submission, and a review process by the reviewer maximum in 5 days, followed by revision/publication in 2 days. If the article gets notified for revision by the handling editor, then it will take another 5 days for external review by the previous reviewer or alternative reviewer.

Acceptance of manuscripts is driven entirely by handling editorial team considerations and independent peer-review, ensuring the highest standards are maintained no matter the route to regular peer-reviewed publication or a fast editorial review process. The handling editor and the article contributor are responsible for adhering to scientific standards. The article FEE-Review process of $99 will not be refunded even if the article is rejected or withdrawn for publication.

The corresponding author or institution/organization is responsible for making the manuscript FEE-Review Process payment. The additional FEE-Review Process payment covers the fast review processing and quick editorial decisions, and regular article publication covers the preparation in various formats for online publication, securing full-text inclusion in a number of permanent archives like HTML, XML, and PDF, and feeding to different indexing agencies.
