Biography
Dr. George Chalikias was born in 1973, he graduated from Medical School, of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in 1997. Since then he have been actively involved with clinical practice of Cardiology in a Hospital setting. In 2005, he gained my PhD thesis in Cardiology. he have completed his residency in Cardiology in 2010 and since then he is working as a Senior Lecturer in the Cardiology Department, Medical School at the University Hospital of Alexandroupolis, with clinical, educational and research activities. From June 2015 he is working in the same Department as Assist. Prof. in Cardiology. His clinical interests are in non-invasive imaging in Cardiology (Echocardiography) as well as in Acute Cardiac Care whereas his research interests are in Clinical Epidemiology. Until today, he have authored or co-authored over 50 manuscripts, chapters in several books related to Cardiology. During his career as young investigator he have been awarded several research awards and he have also presented numerous abstracts in Cardiology Congresses. He is a member of the European Cardiology Society, of the European Association of Heart Failure and of the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging.
