Dr. Pietro Paolo Falciglia received his PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Salerno (Italy) in 2008. He is currently handling research on Microwave treatment of hydrocarbon polluted soils, sediments and groundwater, Mercury-polluted marine sediment remediation by microwave treatment or electro-kinetic decontamination, Natural orgin surfactant-enhanced treatment of Hg-polluted marine sediments, Stabilisation/Solidification of radionuclides polluted soils: benche scale activities and modelling of gamma radiation shielding properties of materials employed, Monitoring of wastewater and groundwater contaminated with radioactive elements. He is currently working as Adjunct professor in University of Catania (Italy) and Visiting scientist at Laboratory of radioactivity (LNS) in National Institute of Nuclear Physics (Italy).
