Abstract

This collection of articles emphasizes strengthening global biodefense through robust public health, international cooperation, and integrated national security frameworks. It highlights the critical need for sustained investment in rapid diagnostics, flexible vaccines, and advanced medical countermeasures, including therapeutics. The importance of adaptive biosecurity governance and biological risk assessment, particularly concerning dual-use research and synthetic biology, is underscored.
