This collection of articles examines critical challenges in preventing biological weapons development and misuse. It emphasizes the need to strengthen the Biological Weapons Convention through enhanced verification and adaptation to new scientific advancements like CRISPR and synthetic biology. The dual-use nature of biotechnology demands robust biosecurity, ethical oversight, and international cooperation.
