Bioremediation

`Bioremedation is a waste management technique that involve use of micrioorganisms to remove neutraliuse pollutants from a contaminated site .

Biodegredation

Biodegraedation is the chemical dissolution of materials by bacteria fungi or biological means

Biodegradable definition

Biodegradable is a substance capable of being decomposed bybacteria or other living organisms and there by avoiding pollution

in situ bioremediation

In situ bioremediation (ISB) is the application of bioremediation in the subsurface – as compared to ex situ bioremediation, which applies to media readily accessible aboveground (e.g., in treatment cells/soil piles or bioreactors).  In situ bioremediation may be applied in the unsaturated/vadoze zone (e.g., bioventing) or in saturated soils and groundwater.

Waste degredation

water degradation decreases water quality and water quantiy ,which results in the growth of pathogens and leads to great risk of both human and animals health.

sewage water treatment

Sewage water treatment is the process of removing contaminants from waste water, primarily from household sewage,by product of sewage treatmentsemisolids slurry has to undergo furthur treatment befor being suitable for disposal .

Heavy metal Bioremediation

Heavy metal bioremidation is the process of removal of heavy metals from contaminated domestic industrial effluent indigenous bacteria islated from acclimatized activated sludge, four resistant strains are used as amixture to remove heavymetals.

Phytoremediation

Phytoremidation is the direct use of living green plants for insitu ,or in place, removal ,degradtion, contaminats in soils ,sludges sediments surface water and ground water.

Mycoremediation

Mycoremediation is a form of bioremidation ,process iof using fungi to degrade or to remove contaminants in environment stimulating microbial and enxyme activity, myceliumand to reduse toxins ins-itu.

bioremediation bacteria

Bioremediation bacteria is used to clean the oil spils in the ocean through bioremidation therir are specific bacteria for specific contaminants such as hydrocarbons ,which are present in oil and gasolin

bioremediation examples

Environmental soil contamination,Hydrocarbons from oilspills,Accelerated bioremidation process surface washing of areas, soil remidation using microbial cleaners and microbial blenders

bioremediation oil spills

Oil spills have become serious problem in cold environments with ever icrese in resource exploitation ,transportation ,storage and accidental lekage of oils Bioremidation is a promising action for remidation it is effective and economic in removing oils with less undue environmental damages

bioremediation articles

Bioremidation articles continues to be favoured articles and approach for processing biological wastes.

types of bioremediation

Bioremediation can be done in 3 ways; Biostimulation: In Biostimulation we need to motivate the bacteria inorder to start bioremediation process. Bioaugumentation: We use Bioaugmentation, in some speacial cases where we need to remove contaminants which are not specific. Intrinsic Bioremediation: Its the process of removing harmful substances from soil and water with the use of microorganisms.

in situ bioremediation

In situ bioremediation is used to treat contaminants on site. For soil, it involves addition of nutrients inorder to increase the degradation ability of the microorganisms.

ex situ bioremediation

Ex situ bioremediation involves extraction of contaminated media to other location for treatment. This can be done in 2 ways; Solid Phase: It consists of placing the excavated materials into an above ground enclosure. Slurry Phase: In this the contaminated soil is excavated and removed from the site as completely as possible.

types of upwelling

Upwelling process involves the rise of deep, cold and nutrient rich water towards the surface. Coastal Upwelling, Large-Scale driven upwelling, upwelling associated with eddies, topographically associated upwelling, broad-diffusive upwelling, equatorial upwelling are the types.

Biodegradable Plastics

Biodegradable Plastic is plastic that decomposes naturally in the environment. This is achieved when microorganisms in the environment metabolize and break down the structure of biodegradable plastic.

biodegradable sunscreen

Biodegradable Sunscreen is an eco friendly sunscreen that decompes naturally, doesn't contain chemicals (octinoxate, camphor, butylparaben etc.,) that can damage coral reefs and ocean life.

biodegradable confetti

Confetti is the perfect way to send off the bride and groom. Biodegradable confetti is completely safe, water soluble, and it does not pose harm to birds and animals. We can made these confetti, at our home itself wihout causing harm to the environment.

biodegradable diapers

Biodegradable diapers are not manufactured with petrochemicals or other eco-unfriendly materials or skin irritants, so they are preferred for protectio of both the baby and the environment. Biodegradable diapers do not biodegrade in a landfill, and will only decompose if they are composted.

biodegradable balloons

Biodegradable balloons are made from natural latex which biodegrades within about 6 months, they are also traded fairly and have been certified as coming from a sustainable source.

non biodegradable

Non-biodegradable substances are those which cannot be transformed into harmless natural state by the action of bacteria. And burning of these fuels causes more pollution in the environment. They can be useful if recycled. Ex: plastics, glasses, metals, toxic chemicals, toxins, grocery bags, plastic containers, and plastic water bottles.

xenobiotics

Xenobiotics are the chemical compounds which are not endogeneously produced and therefore foreign to a given biological system. With resepect to environment it includes synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and industrial pollutants.

bioremediation oil spills

Bioremediation of Oil Spills uses bacteria to clean up oil spills in the ocean. These have negative effect on marine life, especially seabirds and filter-feeders.

soil bioremediation

Soil contaminants can be removed with the use of bioremediation, in which microbes utilize the chemical compounds in the soil as energy source, and they metabolize the soil contaminants through oxidation-reduction reactions.

bioremediation plants

Pytoremediation involves treatment of environmental problems through the use of plants, without the need to excavate the contaminant media and dispose of it elsewhere.

bioremediation products

Alabaster Corp. Bioremediation Products for oil spill cleaning, Bio Tech, Inc. leads the industry in the use of microorganisms to improve the performance of oil & gas producing wells, SWDs and waterfloods. Biohidrica; Developer of products for the detection and control of environmental contamination.

disadvantages of Bioremediation

1. Process conditions must be conducive to microbial acitivity(Temp, pH). 2. Treatment time is typically longer than any other processes. 3. If the process is not controlled, may result in toxic by-products that that could be more mobile than the initial contamination.

anaerobic biodegradation

The degradation of compounds by microorganisms in the absence of oxygen is termed as anaerobic biodegradation.

biodegradation of pesticides

Pesticide biodegradation is the process by which a pesticide is transformed into a simple substance that is environmentally compatible with the site to which it was applied.

* Unofficial 2014 Impact Factors were established by dividing the number of articles published in 2012 and 2013 were cited in 2012 based on a search of the Google Scholar Citation Index database, by the number of articles published in the previous two years (2012 and 2013). A = the number of times, articles published in 2012 and 2013, were cited by indexed journals during 2014 B = the total number of "citable items" published by that journal in 2012 and 2013.
