Biography

Chen Jia-xu, MD, PhD, is native of Hubei, China. Professor Chen received his first degree in Chinese Medicine from the Hubei University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and obtained his master’s and PhD degrees from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM). He is a state approved doctoral supervisor, and director of state-level subject of Chinese Medicine Diagnosis in BUCM. He is one of the best-known and highly respected practitioners and teachers in BUCM with many years of professional experience. Dr. Chen has spent virtually his entire career at this prestigious university, where he has been teaching, conducting research, and practicing at the hospital since 1988. Professor Chen’s research interests focus on the standardization of Chinese medicine diagnosis, He has published more than 200 articles and obtained many awards in recent years. In 2004 his Diagnostics in Chinese Medicine was awarded as the National Elaborate Course from the Ministry of Education of China, and then was supported by the China National Funds for Distinguished Young Scientists in 2008.
