Research Interest

Development of translational green chemistry for the sustainable conversion of bioresources to biofuels, biopower, biobased materials and chemicals. As such, Ragauskas’ core belief is that a professor can only be as successful as the students he educates, mentors and graduates. As such, Ragauskas academic mission has been, and remains, the cornerstone of his career objectives. These career objectives includeDevelop a challenging and enriching undergraduate educational and research experience that facilitates the intellectual development of science, engineering and liberal arts students and introduces these students to the exciting opportunities and challenges focused about the development of the sustainable biorefineryRecruit, educate, and develop the next generation of scientists that will be nationally internationally recognized leaders in sustainable chemistry of biofuels biomaterials, biopower, from renewable bioresourcesDevelop a nationally internationally recognized research center for sustainable green chemistry of bioresources and their conversion to innovative biofuels biopower bio-based materials & chemicals in a modern biorefinery.
