Biography

Eirini Manthou is Postdoctoral Researcher at the Dept. of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, University of Thessaly in Greece and lecturer at the Dept. of Nutrition and Dietetics, University of Applied Sciences, Thessaly. She owns an MSc in “Human Nutrition” and Ph.D “Behavioural compensatory and metabolic changes in response to exercise in overweight/ obese women” from the University of Glasgow. Both were supported by greek foundation scholarships. She received her first degree at the Dept. of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, University of Thessaly. Her main areas of interest are nutrition and exercise in health and disease, sports nutrition, weight management, specialized/ functional food, biochemistry of exercise. She has published numerous articles and serves as a reviewer in established journals in the exercise and nutrition field. She is a member of the Hellenic Society of Biochemistry and Physiology of Exercise, Nutrition Society UK, the European network for the promotion of health-enhancing physical activity (HEPA) and the Higher Education Academy, UK.
