Biography
For the past twelve years, Michael J. Buono, AIA, LEED AP has served as professor of Architecture and Director of the Hammons School of Architecture at Drury university in Springfield, Missouri Prior to that he was Professor of Architecture and Associate Dean at the School of Architecture at the University of Arkansas over a sixteen year tenure.
Research Interest
His interests lie in the area of sustainability of the built and the natural environment. At the planning scale, he has a particular interest in sustainability in small towns and communities. At the building scale he is very much interested in sustainable passive approaches to design and also sustainable materials. Another interest is the integration of technical building systems as elements that affect both conceptualization and design development.
