Biography
Professor W.K. Chow, PhD FSFPE, is the Chair Professor of Architectural Science and Fire Engineering, Leader of Area of Strength: Fire Safety Engineering, Director of Research Centre for Fire Engineering, and Head of Department, Department of Building Services Engineering of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong. His main research interests are on architectural science, fire and safety engineering. Over six hundred papers were published in international journals and conference proceedings. He is the Founding President of the Hong Kong Chapter, Society of Fire Protection Engineers, since 2002; and elected as the President of the Asia-Oceania Association for Fire Science and Technology in 2007. He is active in dealing with performance-based design in the Far East and assisting the government departments in approving fire engineering design by serving various committees since 1986.
