Biography

Philip Valente was born in New York City where he obtained an MD degree from Columbia University in 1977. His post graduate eduation continued in New York and Philadelphia where he became an assistant professor of Pathology at Temple University. In 1988 he moved to San Antonio where he is currently Professor of Pathology and Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He has served two terms on the Executive Board of the American Society of Cytopathology and is past president of the Texas Society of Pathology. He is the Director of Cytology at University Hospital and is involved in clinical service and teaching of residents and medical students.
