Biography

Alicia Sales is professor of psychology at Faculty of Psychology (Department of developmental psychology), University of Valencia, Spain. In the field of aging, has participated and developed in funded projects and publications impact in healthy and pathological aging. His primary research areas of interest include succesful aging: well-being, coping, resilience and emotion regulation (clinical psychology); and dementias: neuropsychological and cognitive aging, cognitive reserve, plasticity and compensation (clinical neuropychology). He has published numerous articles in publications including International Psychogeriatrics, Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology, Archives of Gerontology and Geriatrics, Journal of Positive Psychology, Social Indicators Research, Psicothema and Scandinavian Journal of Psychology.

In addition to his research, Professor Sales has also taught and given seminars and courses in several institutions. She has directed and given several programs of clinical intervention in older people.

Professor Sales received her Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Valencia, Spain, her Master of Clinical Psychology from the Behavior Therapy Center in Valencia, Spain, her Master of Psicogerontology in University of Valencia and her PhD of Psychology in Psicogerontology from University of Valencia.
