Lung cancer is also referred as carcinoma of the lung or pulmonary carcinoma. It is a malignant tumor of the lung which is characterized by involuntary cell growth. If it is not treated the cell growth spreads to other parts of the body. The main cause of lung cancer is exposure to tobacco for a long period. Treatment of lung cancer depends on the type of cancer.
