Biography
Dr. Sellamuthu received his PhD in Animal Physiology from Indian Veterinary Research Institute, UP, India. His research interests focused on the development of blood biomarkers to detect sub-clinical pulmonary toxicity, cellular and molecular mechanisms of adverse effect of toxic agents (radiation) and chemical (silica) on the hematopoietic system and lungs. He is a member of professional societies including the Society of Toxicology, Radiation Research Society and Society of Animal Physiologists of India.
Research Interest
Toxicogenomics; biomarker development for silicosis; inflammation; fibrosis; and diseases caused by environmental and occupational exposure to various chemicals; oxidative stress marker for colorectal cancer
