In 2015, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine jointly with William C. Campbell and Tu Youyou. Susumu Tonegawa and Shinya Yamanaka also awarded with nobel prize for their research work related to immunology which is a branch of Medicne and Physiology.
