Biography

I was born in Chiba, Japan. I graduated from Chiba University School of Medicine in 2000. After engaging in a field of clinical psychiatry, I belonged to Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare in Japan from 2004 to 2006, in which I contributed to the enforcement of the new legislation on forensic mental health in Japan. I moved to Chiba University Hospital as an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry in 2006. Now, I am a lecturer at Chiba University Hospital. Since 2014, I had also belonged to the MSc course of Forensic Mental Health at Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London for one year. I accomplished some research about forensic mental health, psychiatric medication, cognitive behavioral therapy, and so forth. My specialty is forensic mental health, especially the Medical Treatment and Supervision act: the MTS act.

Forensic mental health, mental health law, professional education for psychiatrists, cognitive behavioral therapy, eating disorders, psychiatric testimony, psychiatric medications, social psychiatry, clinical statistics.
