Biography

Jinsong Liu. MD, PhD is a professor with tenure in the Department of Pathology at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. He graduated from Shanghai First Medical College (now Fudan University), China, and came to US through China-United States Biochemistry Examination Program (CUSBEA) 1984, received a master degree from Indiana University and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Case Western Reserve University in 1991.  He completed postdoctoral training at Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the University of Michigan. After finishing a pathology residency and surgical pathology fellowship at New York University, He joined M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in 1999 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor (2004) and professor with tenure (2009).

Research Interest

Dr. Liu is an active diagnostic pathologist specialized in gynecologic malignancy and also directs extramurally funded research program focusing on ovarian cancer development. His research has been funded more than 20 grants including R01 and from and Specialized Programs of Research Excellence (SPORE) in ovarian cancer from NCI/NIH, and Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CRPIT), and Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.
