Abstract

Mechanosensitive G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) are crucial mechanotransducers, converting mechanical forces into biochemical signals. They regulate diverse physiological processes, including cardiovascular function, renal health, and blood pressure, and are implicated in diseases like cancer, chronic kidney disease, hypertension, and pain. Research explores their unique activation mechanisms, such as direct force sensing and modulation by membrane tension. Understanding these MS-GPCRs and their signaling pathways reveals their significant potential as novel therapeutic targets for various chronic conditions and pathologies
