L. Arul Pragasan
Biography
Dr. L. Arul Pragasan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore (India). He has joined Bharathiar University in 2011 with a career objective to achieve excellence in teaching and research through constant process of learning combined with experience. He holds Ph.D. in Ecology and Environmental Sciences (2010) from Pondicherry University, Puducherry (India). He earned B.Sc. in Botany (2003) and M.Sc. in Ecology and Environmental Sciences (2004) from PU. He has received various fellowships Research Associate (2010-2011), Project Fellow (2009-2010), Senior Research Fellow (2008-2009), Junior Research Fellow (2006-2008), Project Associate (2004-2005) from different National Agencies/Institute, such as, CSIR, DBT, ISRO and Pondicherry University. To his credit, he has guided one M.Phil. Scholar, nine M.Sc. Students (guiding one), and one Ph.D. Scholar submitted his Thesis (guiding two). He has organized two Workshops (one national, one regional). He has received award for Oral Presentation in a National Conference. He reviews articles for national and international journals. He has published 16 articles in international (13) and national (3) journals. He has co-authored a book and two book chapters, and 16 papers/abstracts were published in the proceedings of national/international conference/seminar/workshop.
Research Interest
L. Arul Pragasan has wide range of research experience and currently his research interest focuses on Carbon Sequestration in mitigation of Climate Change.
