Biography
Dr. Amol Kulkarni received Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2006. During his graduate research, he discovered a new reaction pathway known as “methylene free enyne metathesis”. He was a postdoctoral fellow in the Universities of Pittsburgh (2006-2008) and Houston (2008-2010). He is currently an assistant professor in Pharmaceutical Chemistry in the College of Pharmacy, Washington, D.C. His research is focused on the discovery of new reaction pathways for facile, green synthesis of drugs and other biologically interesting molecules.
Research Interest
Development of entry- and maturation inhibitors of HIV-1, development of novel agents against Alzheimer’s disease, green synthesis, stereoselective synthesis.
