General introduction of the journal
Human being has been indulged in war since the very first day of civilization. Dynamic alteration in the opponent has been witnessed in this everlasting battle. We have found that our opponent remained environmental calamities, life threatening pathogens, other equivalent species including several harmful flora and fauna and sometimes human being himself. Understanding of microbial life forms allowed us to combat numerous diseases and prevent ourselves from harmful pathogens. On the contrary, hatred among ourselves diverted our precious scientific knowledge to harm each other and gave rise to the biological warfare in terms of bioterrorism. Journal of Bioterrorism & Biodefense (JBTBD) is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that publishes research, review article, short communication, mini review, opinion article, letter to editor in the areas of Epidemology, Public Health and Microbiology.

The journal considers different topics under the biodefense and bioterrorism subject. Particularly, this periodical seeks submissions on the following topic: Anthrax Bioterrorism; Bio surveilliance; Biodefense; Biohazards; Biological Preparedness; Bio Warfare; Biological weapons; Biorisk; Bioterrorism Agents; Biothreat Agents; Disease surveillance; Emerging infectious disease; Nuclear Terrorism; United States biological defense program; Vaccines; Probabilistic risk assessment. Articles will be considered if it belongs to any of the following type: Research article, Review article, Mini review, Short communication, Editorial, Opinion article and Letter to editor. A research article must have an abstract followed by Introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion, conclusion and references following the standard research article organization protocol. Author may include results and discussion together or separate according to their wish. Article should be complete by all means before submission. Review article should be of 2000 words length minimum and should provide detail information on a relevant topic and authors should provide some fruitful opinion or future direction in their conclusion. Mini reviews are short reviews which should be more or less similar to full length review articles and provide comprehensive information on any related topic. Similarly, short communications provide as much as possible detail information but presented in a summarised manner. Short communication may or may not have abstract. Editorials are majorly provided by the Editors of the journals and are solicited by the Editor-in-Chief or Publisher. Opinion articles are short articles (1000 to 1500 words) on a specific topic and may be solicited or unsolicited in nature. The author should present his or her opinion along with a comprehensible background on a specific topic, preferable in an area which the author has expertise. Letter-to-Editor can be submitted by anyone considering any important topic under the scope of the journal or towards any specific article published by the journal. The limitation is 300-500 words for Letter-to-Editor article. If need arise, publisher may take opinion from the author of the original article and request the original author to supply a reply to the Letter-to-Editor article which may be published along with the Letter-to-Editor article. Any letter should not contain any harsh, prejudiced comment. Editor-in-Chief of the journal is having right to decide whether to proceed or not in such cases. Even though the journal considers all allied areas associated to the journal scope but the periodical will prefer to receive research and review articles on the latest research on bioterror causing microbes, vaccination and recent microbial infection on rise and ethical consideration on this issues. Such articles will be considered under accelerated processing with major importance.
